You're capable of more than you think
Today is a big week for me! I released my first ever eBook, which I hope all of y'all have gotten. If you haven't, you can click this link and get 50% off still as members of my email list. If you've already purchased, thank you! I'd love it if you could leave a review.
Through this process, I realized I am capable of so much more than I ever thought.
The idea for this book started a few months back. At first, I'd thought I wouldn't release the book for another year. That all changed when posted my first thread on money and marriage on Twitter.
Money is the #1 cause of divorce.
Your fear of talking money is going to end your marriage.
So how do you have better money conversations with your partner?
Here are 13 questions to discuss with your spouse to improve your relationship with money.

The tweet far outpaced anything I'd done prior. It was clear that people were hungry for this content.
I then followed it up with a second thread.
If you're not doing these 11 things, you're bound to fight with your spouse about money.

It was after seeing this success that I got truly serious about writing the book and writing it in 2021.
I then backed into what I'd need to do.
I needed to release it before December, so everyone would have time to implement it before 2022.
But we have a baby due November 11th. I wasn't confident in my ability to finish it after the baby comes, so that left before. The first week of November seemed too close to the due date, so that left this week.
I convinced (heavy on the convincing) my wife and we were off to the races.
If you happened to notice, the date stamps on those Twitter threads are from mid-September.
That meant I had around a month to write, edit, and format an eBook that I wanted to be substantial.
So on October 27th, I released a 70+ page eBook with 30+ pages of exercises and workbooks.
Here is how I did it.
I had a framework
Let me just come out and say it: trying to do 100+ pages of content in less than 45 days is stupid.
But, it was made easier by already having a framework in place.
Samantha and I have been working this framework for at least 5 years now and refined the process along the way.
Sure, we didn't do something this formal, but all the elements were there.
That previous experience allowed me to only have to refine, not to create from scratch.
I created a plan
Once I refined my framework, I put together a plan. I put on the schedule when I'd have things complete, who I'd ask for reviews and testimonials, and scheduled my wife for editing.
Things didn't always go as planned. About halfway through I realized it wasn't going to be as fleshed out as I'd like, so I had to pull back and go more simple than I'd originally hoped.
I think the simple approach actually worked, because I've gotten quite a few complements on how to the point it is.
In the future I hope to add more stories, but I simply didn't have the time to work through them in the shortened timeline.
This actually flows with the framework, as I talk about creating a plan, then being willing to adapt.
I put my head down
I worked on it at lunch, in the evenings, in the mornings... whenever I could find time I worked on it.
Nothing can replace good ole hard work. So many probably see the finished product and think "o I'd love to do that". But, very few will be willing to actually put in the time.
I don't mean this to insult you, but it's the absolute truth.
To find that commitment, you have to have a passion for what you're doing.
My passion comes from personal experience, as well as the audience I could visualize. I could see the young married class we teach at church creating futures I couldn't even envision.
The vision created the desire and the desire pulled me through.
I asked for help
Here is where I thank my lovely wife. Without her, I wouldn't have completed it.
She helped with the visuals and editing and put her own stamp on the project. While I get my name on the front, she gets nothing besides a happy husband.
I also asked 20+ people for reviews. I learned a lesson in that, as well, because cultivating those relationships resulted in more saying yes than I'd ever hoped for. So to those reviewers, THANK YOU!
Being willing to ask for help assures that more than just your brainpower is being used. To create something bigger than yourself, that's required.
I used to be hesitant to ask others, but going forward that won't be the case. The energy created from having others involved is undeniable.
Question for the week
Thank you all for being a part of my email list. It really means a lot.
Is there anything you'd like to learn or see me talk about?
PS, don't forget to buy Money & Marriage and leave a review!
